A flare-season routine that does not make things worse

A flare-season routine that does not make things worse

Demo article — written for the design prototype, not published by the brand.

Do less, not more

The instinct during a flare is to add products. It is almost always the wrong move. Skin that is inflamed does not need six new actives introduced in the same week.

Strip back to three steps: a cleanser that does not foam aggressively, a light moisturizer while the skin is still damp, and one richer occlusive at night.

Give it four weeks

Skin turns over on roughly a 28-day cycle. Anything you start today is not fairly judged until that cycle has run. Most people abandon a routine at day ten.

Keep one thing constant for four weeks and change one variable at a time. It is slower and it is the only way to know what is helping.
