A weed with a long record
Burdock is a common enough plant that most people have pulled it out of a garden. It has also been in skin preparations for something like four thousand years, which is a long run for a folk remedy.
What makes it useful is not exotic. The root is dense in antioxidants and has a mild anti-inflammatory action, which is exactly what irritated skin needs and exactly what most commercial cleansers strip away.
Why it is in every formula
We did not set out to make a burdock brand. The first product was a bar of soap for one person’s skin, and burdock was the thing in it that worked. Everything after that was built on the same base because there was no reason to change it.
That is also why the line is small. Eighteen products, one root, and no fragrance oils layered on top to make anything smell like something it is not.
